Please Help to Support Mindy After an Unimaginable Tragedy
On May 2nd, 2025, our dear friend Mindy experienced the unthinkable. While returning from Texas after picking up her three sons, her vehicle suffered a double tire blowout, leaving the family stranded on the side of the road. In a devastating turn of events, a semi-truck collided with their car.
The accident claimed the lives of Mindy’s beloved fiancé, AJ Barnett Sr., and her two youngest sons, Andre Byrd (12) and Allan Byrd (8). Miraculously, Mindy and her oldest son survived. Mindy sustained a broken back along with multiple other fractures and now faces a long, painful road to recovery. Her son escaped with minimal physical injuries, but the emotional toll they now carry is unimaginable.
We are raising funds to help Mindy cover the overwhelming costs of:
Funeral expenses for her two precious children. Medical bills and long-term care for her injuries. Basic living expenses during this time of unbearable grief and transition.
Mindy has always been a strong, loving, and generous soul. Now, she needs our support more than ever. Her babies deserve a beautiful homegoing, and her son and daughter deserve a heartfelt farewell for their beloved brothers.
No mother should ever have to bury two children. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you’re unable to give, please help us by sharing this campaign.
Thank you for your compassion, support, and prayers during this time of heartbreak and healing.
Update on Mindy: 5/6- she is heading back to surgery, for her neck. This will be the first procedure. We are asking that you lift her and the surgeons up during this time. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
Update: First, I’d like to thank all of you for your generosity. Secondly, Mindy’s neck surgery went well. She’s awaiting more. Lastly, funeral arrangements for the will be held in Texas, next weekend on the 17th, 12:30pm.
Update on Mindy: doctors say if she stays on the path she’s on, she’ll get released just in time to travel down for the services! She sees doctors tomorrow morning (Monday) to another look at her back. Please keep her lifted in healing & keep prayers coming.
Thank you,
Vanessa
