My story

Hello, to whomever is reading this, my name is Jasmine Climaco but you can call me Mina. I have come to you to share my story on why I need Your Help. I am not the type to ask for money online or in general I like to solve it on my own but in this case, I really need your help as I am unable to afford the cost of my surgery.

I am a 22-years of age, I was born with Treacher

Collins Syndrome, a rare condition that has made everyday tasks like breathing

and hearing that has challenged me since birth.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve faced obstacles that many take for granted.

Breathing has always been a struggle, and I’ve relied on hearing aids to connect

with the world around me. Unfortunately, my medical insurance was taken away

when I was just a child, leaving me to navigate these challenges without financial

support. Growing up with my condition has been anything but easy. I’ve spent

countless hours in hospitals, going from one appointment to the next, enduring

surgery after surgery to address issues with my breathing, hearing, and facial

structure. While these procedures were meant to improve my health, they also

brought a whirlwind of physical pain, emotional struggles, and a childhood filled

with uncertainty. I was always in one's care which was my mom she would take me in and out of the hospital and to appointments, etc. She sacrificed a lot for me as I did not have my father around, she was a single mother and still is to this day. She has put so much effort to try and do as much as she can by working multiple jobs just so I can get what is needed for me. She has never left my side and I am thankful for her, but there is only so much she can do.

School was particularly tough on me. I faced relentless bullying because of how I

looked and the devices I relied on, like my hearing aids. This constant judgment

made me feel isolated and different, leaving deep emotional scars that I carry to

this day. The stress of medical treatments and the social challenges I faced led

me to grow up with depression and anxiety battles, I still fight daily. The

medications I was prescribed helped physically, but they also added to my

mental health struggles. As I grew older, I started feeling like a burden due to me having all of the conditions I have, which has made me become very introverted and have bad social anxiety. I never really had any friends growing up. I was always alone, I would cry and still do till this day blaming my disabilities and looks. I tried hard to put myself out there but I never really get a positive outcome due to my social anxiety or people treating me differently for the way that I was born. Maybe just maybe with this surgery I could be a bit more happier and maybe people won't treat me differently and I won't feel ugly. I can feel more confident about myself and not be stuck in my own bubble.

I am now preparing for a life changing surgery. This isn’t just any procedure, it’s

a major, essential operation that will improve my ability to breathe and enhance

my overall health. Most importantly, it’s a surgery that could help me live a

longer, fuller life. However, this journey isn’t without its challenges.
