Hi, my name is Nicholas, and I'm raising funds for my sweet cat Mina, whose life was turned upside down by a botched routine surgery at a veterinary clinic in Montréal.
On July 3rd, Mina went in for a standard spay procedure. What should have been a simple and safe operation turned into a nightmare.
The operating vet failed to properly control internal bleeding, and left three surgical compresses inside her abdomen. I had to Uber Mina myself to CENTREDMVET, an emergency and specialty hospital, where they performed an emergency reoperation to remove the retained gauze and stop active bleeding from both her uterine stump and a vessel near her bladder.
The consequences of that original surgery were catastrophic. Mina had to be resuscitated after her heart stopped. She’s now in intensive care, fighting to recover from the trauma — a fight that never should have been necessary.
Mina's Complications were documented in detail by the emergency hospital team at CENTREDMVET, including the surgical findings confirming retained gauzes and vascular hemorrhage.
Why We’re Asking for Help
The cost of Mina’s emergency surgery and critical care has already exceeded $15,000, and she is still in need of continued treatment. My family is doing everything we can — including seeking accountability from the clinic responsible — but we need help to keep going.
This wasn’t a tragic accident — it was a preventable, documented surgical error. Mina didn’t deserve this, and she deserves every chance to heal. We’re asking for support not just to save her life, but to hold the first clinic accountable for the suffering she’s endured and to pay for the already mounting hospital bill at CENTREDMVET.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward Mina’s emergency care, hospitalization, medications, and recovery. If you're unable to give, sharing this page can also make a huge difference.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for Mina — for her life, and for justice.
