Help Mimi Thru Her Kidney Transplant & Recovery

We are asking for your support and assistance for Mimi Pizano, our beloved coworker and friend. We all love Mimi’s energetic and positive personality, and her kind and giving spirit has touched us all in one way or another over the years. Now it’s our turn to return her kindness and generosity.

As you might know, Mimi has battled Lupus for most of her life. As a direct result of having Lupus, she developed kidney disease that has gotten progressively worse to the point that her kidneys do not work well enough to keep her alive. Miguel, Mimi’s husband who passed away in April, took on the task of finding a kidney donor. This was a long and emotional process. Before he passed, Miguel found a kidney donor who was a match to Mimi. She has finally been scheduled for a kidney transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Her surgery is November 15th. Following her surgery, Mimi will be staying at The Gift of Life house in Rochester for 2-3 weeks. She will then have an additional 2-3 weeks of recovery at home. We have seen Mimi’s fierce, fighting spirit help her to move through her grief with Miguel’s passing. But now, she needs our support and assistance with the expenses she’s going to incur from her surgery and recovery.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be appreciated and will help relieve financial burdens for Mimi as she goes through and recovers from her kidney transplant.
