Hi, my name is Liz Arias; I am fundraising to help support Terrence & Mimi during this difficult time. On 05/20/2023, their apartment building suffered a terrible fire that displaced them and destroyed their property and possessions. Terrence Coffie and Minerva "Mimi" Pascual have been compassionate advocates and voices of change on behalf of returning citizens, working tirelessly to ensure that the needs of this community are being met as they transition back into society. Their advocacy through their work, as well as the grassroots campaign of The Social Justice Network, has impacted the lives of countless returning citizens here in our New York City community seeking to build better lives!
This past weekend, on Saturday, May 20th, Terrence and Mimi faced a tragedy: their apartment building was destroyed in a terrible fire that decimated their home and property. By the grace of God, neither Terrence nor Mimi were injured in this fire. Additionally, there were only minor injuries reported involving some of their neighbors. Thankfully, no lives were lost.
This catastrophe has taken a tremendous toll on Terrence and Mimi as they seek to deal with this tragedy and begin rebuilding their lives after learning the complex has been deemed inhabitable and now faces the reality of being displaced. In spite of this horrible ordeal and these challenges, they remain optimistic, hopeful, and grateful. Through the limited support of the American Red Cross, they are receiving emergency disaster relief, but they will need your help as they face the long road ahead.
Terrence and Mimi are genuinely grateful for the outpouring of community support, concern, and prayers; it has been inspiring.
We ask you to support this campaign by donating to help Terrence and Mimi.
Your donations, of any size are not only appreciated but needed. Thanks in advance for your support!
