Help Milton Fight FIP: Urgent Medical Support
Donation protected
We are starting this fundraiser for Milton, my soon-to-be 8-month-old kitten. I found him and his brother on May 2nd, 2024, less than a week old, in my backyard. I was nervous caring for them during their neonatal period, but with God's grace, they were happy, healthy babies.
On Dec 29th, 2024, Milton was admitted for severe FIP. Feline infectious peritonitis is considered an incurable disease; it is caused by the mutation of the coronavirus.
I noticed slow movement and lack of eating, then symptoms drastically increased within hours. He couldn’t hold his neck or body up. I immediately took him to urgent care, and he was admitted at 1:00 am. Fluids were removed from his abdomen twice. He is currently on IV fluids and morphine. They even gave him a shot of steroids with hopes for mild improvement, but unfortunately, he’s still in a lethargic state. It’s been about 20 hours, and there is little to no improvement. The overnight hospital bill is extremely high, but I don’t want to give up. I’ve expedited the only drug that may treat FIP with hopes it will arrive before it’s too late. Our bill is already at 3k within the past 20 hours. His doctor recommended trying the medication out for at least 48 hours before euthanizing him.
Every day in intensive care is roughly 1.5k.
I’m extremely disappointed in myself for not paying closer attention to his symptoms. I pray my little guy can overcome this battle.
I’ve always rescued animals throughout my life. I have a rescue dog of almost 18 years and another rescue cat of 4 years. We are a family who loves animals and does our best to provide a happy and safe home.
Please pray for Milton’s recovery; they are giving him a 20% chance of survival. We are praying for a miracle.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any donation helps, even if it’s just a prayer. God bless.
