Hello, My name is Kris and this is my cat Milou, he’s 4 1/2 years old and I adopted him from a rescue shelter when he was brought in from a hoarder house as a kitten. I named him after Tintin’s little white dog from the comics and he’s been my own sidekick since. He’s a little shy but the still the sweetest and most talkative cat.

Unfortunately, Milou was just diagnosed with a cranial thoracic mass that is most likely a thymoma. I first brought him in to the vet because he seemed like he had a cold as he was coughing and sneezing a lot but after hearing a heart murmur and taking an X-ray his vet learned there was a mass of tissue and fluid built up in his chest. After several tests at our primary vet, he suggested I see an oncologist to test for lymphoma and they fortunately found that the growth was more likely a thymoma and the tumor can be safely surgically removed. I was quoted a price of $10k for that surgery alone but I’ve already spent more than I have on all the tests and the CT scan to get this far. I lost my full time job a year ago and maybe this wouldn’t have been as bad of an issue then, but with the two part time jobs I have now I can’t afford to even support myself let alone pay for the surgery. Milou has been so patient and resilient throughout all these vet visits, still playful and affectionate even after all the tests and the medicine I’ve been having to give him every day for the past month. He still has his whole life ahead of him and I want this to be over for him as much as he probably does so he can stop having to live under so much stress. I won’t give up on him now even if it’s already taken everything I have but any help would be beyond appreciated.
