Last week, my coworkers told me about a stray kitten hiding in our parking lot. They knew I had helped stray animals before, so they asked for my help. The first day, it was impossible to catch the little guy—he was scared and kept running under cars. But I could see right away that something was wrong with one of his legs, and he looked like he’d been through a lot. I started leaving food and water out to gain his trust, hoping he’d feel safe enough to come closer.
After three days of patience, I finally managed to coax him into a box with some food. I took him straight to Family Pet Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where the vets did exams, blood work, and X-rays. That’s when I named him Milo. The X-rays showed his back right leg was fractured in two places. At first, the vets thought he might heal naturally, so we tried bandaging his leg and monitoring him closely. But at the next visit, they found his injury was so severe that Milo would need either surgery to fix his leg or an amputation in order to walk normally again. I couldn’t bring myself to choose any other option for such a young, sweet kitten, so I put the cost on my credit card, hoping to give Milo the best future possible.
Now, I’m reaching out for help to cover the costs of Milo’s surgery and care. Anything helps, and at the end of the day, I just want Milo to have a happy, healthy life. To anyone who donates I just wanted to say “I truly appreciate any help & I’m sure Milo does too.”
