On Sunday morning, September 7th, 2025, our lives changed in an instant. Around 7 a.m., a coyote climbed over our 6-foot fence into our backyard. When I went to check on our four dogs, I realized my little Milo—a 12-year-old, 10-pound fur baby—was missing. Moments later, my stepdad found him unconscious, covered in blood with severe wounds to his neck. We thought we had lost him; he showed zero signs of life…
For 40 minutes, I sat heartbroken, saying my goodbyes. Then, to our shock, Milo suddenly lifted his head. He was weak, trembling, and barely coherent, but still fighting. We rushed him to Mission Veterinary Emergency Hospital, where we were told his trachea was crushed, his oxygen dangerously low, and he had only a 30% chance of surviving emergency surgery.
After hours and hours of pure agony not knowing if he would make it, Milo made it through like the strong boy he is. The vets repaired his lacerations and crushed trachea as much as they could and placed him in hospital stay for close monitoring because their main concern was still his oxygen levels and told us his recovery was at 50/50. He was thankfully stabilized and now Milo is home with us, slowly healing, but it will be a long process and we pray he fully recovers. We feed him baby food through a syringe, keep a close eye on his wounds, and give him all the cuddles and belly rubs he loves.
Milo is truly our miracle, our brave little fighter. We are asking for help to cover his medical costs so he can continue on the road to recovery. Any contribution means so much to us and helps Milo keep fighting.
Thank you for supporting our sweet grandpa fur baby, Milo
