I’m Kiana and this is my 2 year old cat Milo.
Milo used to be an indoor/outdoor cat but after recently moving I have kept him indoors as we live near a busy road.
Milo used to be a perfectly healthy, adventurous, playful and most loving, affectionate cat I have ever owned,
But on the evening of May 1st, Milo snuck out of the house and mine and Milos whole world turned upside down after he got struck by a car on his right side.
He barely had managed to limp half way to my front door off adrenaline before I noticed him outside on the ground .
After rushing him to the closest open emergency vet and getting him rushed into emergency care, as he was bleeding out of his nose and eye the results came back as head trauma causing nerve damage to his right eye (if not healed in 6 weeks, they may be looking to remove it all together) and a broken arm in 2 spots of the arm that requires an unaffordable ($6-8K) surgery for me at the moment, and if it is not done Milo will have to get it amputated and lose the leg all together which seems like an unfair option, as he still has such a long life ahead of him.
As a 21 year old, single nursing student this is not only a lot of stress on me at the moment but a pretty unaffordable procedure as well.
My goal is even if he has to lose an eye that he will still be able to run jump and play on all 4 limbs to live a happy fulfilling rest of his life.
To some Milo may just be a cat, but for me he is not only my companion but my best friend. He sleeps with me every night, follows me everywhere I go, and gives me his paw and a shoulder to cry on when I am feeling down.
The thought of losing him or at least not trying the best I can to give him a liveable, enjoyable life, is an unbearable feeling and breaks my heart , if you have a pet I’m sure you understand how hard it would be to have to break that bond by having to let them go, or having to take as much as a whole limb off of them.
Anything at all would be so extremely helpful and so so beyond appreciated, it all adds up .— I promise as a future nurse I will pay it back to our community by saving lives and healing others.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read❤️
