Milo is a mix Yorky terrier and truly my daughter’s baby—her world. He means everything to her and to our family. Milo is a spunky, rambunctious little character, and seeing him so weak and not eating for more than 24 hours has been heartbreaking for all of us. He’s a family member, and we just want him home and healthy again. Almost three weeks ago, Milo got into something he wasn’t supposed to eat—possibly a plastic drink wrapper. He developed diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, and stopped eating. After a vet visit, my daughter was told Milo had kidney failure, but there was hope it could be reversible. He was put on IV fluids several times a week, given antibiotics, and other medications. Since then, Milo has continued to struggle with eating and nausea. While he stopped throwing up, he still has diarrhea and his appetite comes and goes. As of now, he has not eaten for more than 24 hours and is currently at the vet, where they are taking additional lab work. We were just told he will most likely need to stay for a couple of days. The expenses for all the treatment, x-rays, medication, and hospital stay are close to several thousand dollars. The funds raised will help cover Milo’s medical expenses, including hospitalization, lab work, x-rays, medication, and any treatments he needs to recover. Right now, he is very weak and lethargic, and we want to make sure that he gets the care he requires to have the best chance at recovery. This is all more than my daughter can afford, and I’m hoping for some assistance to help pay for Milo’s hospital expenses. Any support would mean the world to us and help give Milo a fighting chance.
