Hi, I’m Milo - a 5 month old Bengal kitten with a big personality and an even bigger love for life.

A few weeks ago, we noticed something wasn’t right. Milo, who is usually extremely playful and adventurous, suddenly became very lethargic and started gaining weight rapidly. After multiple vet visits and tests, a large amount of fluid was found building up in his abdomen.

At first, his heart was suspected as the cause, but a specialist heart scan showed his heart is completely healthy. The fluid continued to worsen, and nearly a litre was drained to help him feel more comfortable. A sample has been sent for further testing.

Based on his symptoms and the fluid analysis so far, the vets now strongly suspect FIP - a serious illness that most commonly affects young cats. The hardest part is that while FIP is very serious, there is effective treatment available, and success rates are high when treatment is started early.

Unfortunately, the treatment is intensive, time-sensitive, and extremely expensive. We are doing everything we can to give Milo the best chance possible, and we’re asking for help to cover the cost of his treatment and ongoing veterinary care.
