Hi everyone,
Meet Millie. She is a two-year-old Bullweiler (Rottweiler and Olde English Bulldogge mix). Millie is a very important member of Carlie, Kristen, Kim and Chris Smith’s family. As soon as Millie entered their family, she instantaneously created a new sense of happiness for the Smith’s and everyone around them. Millie’s loving and sometimes mischievous personality has allowed her to be the source of so many good memories in such a short period of time.
Recently, Millie appeared to have a limp. There was no indication as to why the limp started- it just seemed like a torn muscle, as Millie is an extremely active dog. After three vet appointments and numerous x-rays, they could not find the source of Millie’s pain. Yesterday, a specialist diagnosed Millie with osteosarcoma, which is a form of bone cancer, in her right shoulder. They were presented with the following options: amputation of the right leg followed by chemotherapy, or to put Millie down. In view of Millie’s age, strength and the absence of other health concerns, amputation was presented as a highly probable life-saving solution.
I am reaching out as the Smith’s have always unconditionally helped their family, friends and others when needed. They’re actively involved in fundraising, whether it be attending a function or organizing an event in support of a person or cause. The Smith’s are one of the most generous and supportive families I know, and I am reaching out to provide awareness for this disease, which is common in Rottweiler’s, and to help fund Millie’s treatment and recovery.
Thank you!!
