Help Mili walk again
Donation protected
This is Mili – she was barely 4 weeks old when I first met her. Her then caretakers had their hands full and wanted to give her away. I remember how tiny she was. So fragile. I couldn’t help falling in love with her - all I wanted to do was take her home, protect and take good care of her.
The vets refused to vaccinate her as she was too small for a vaccination and her chances of surviving were slim. It broke my heart but slowly, she adapted; trying to be as normal as any other little kitten - learning to run, jump and play with my other fur baby, Yuko (a rescued lab puppy). She was my little braveheart. She faced all odds and came out a winner – a very healthy, happy and playful little kitten. Even the vets were surprised by the progress she made.
All was well for the last 4 months until one night this week when I noticed her limping. She was quiet and looking at me expectantly. I took her to the emergency unit the very next morning. Turns out she had fractured her limb 'A spiral humeral fracture' – so severely that only an expensive surgery could fix it. Mili now sits in Yuko’s crate, looking up at us, wondering what has happened. She is so calm and graceful even in her pain. She holds my gaze, telling me something with her eyes.
Yuko is sad and confused that his sister isn’t leaving the crate to play with him. He runs around it to get her to come out, but in vain. The whole house is deafeningly silent – in harmony with Mili.
I don’t normally do this and I’ve debated with myself but this brave and beautiful kitten deserves to survive. She needs to esp after all that we have gone through together. I’m at my wits’ end but I’m asking for help as the surgery is expensive and needs to be done ASAP (I will attach her estimates in the update). Your support with her treatment costs would be greatly appreciated and I’d be endlessly grateful for your help and will definitely pay it forward.
Thank you!
