Help Miles Heal After Rodeo Accident

Donation protected
As most of you know Miles had a very scary accident at the HS rodeo this weekend in Coalinga. Savanna and Kevin have had a long 36 hours with him and will need the support from friends and family to make sure Miles makes a full and successful recovery. Savanna goes above and beyond for the rodeo/horse community and now is the time to give back and help this family.

The horse broke his hip socket, ball joint, and sacrum. He had an 8-hour surgery yesterday at Fresno Community Hospital that involved removing the hip joint from the femur to properly perform the procedure to repair the ball joint and socket. They opted not to pin the sacrum during the procedure because the surgeon felt it was strong enough to heal on its own. He had 4-6 pins and a plate holding the hip back together. From the videos, it looks like when the horse went down to its knees on top of him, while getting up, he had his left leg on Miles' back and used his right leg to get up on top of Miles' right leg, popping his leg out of socket and breaking the socket, ball of the joint, and fracturing the sacrum. He has been ordered 12 weeks of no pressure on his right leg and very limited range of motion for 6 of those weeks. He will have a couple of months at the very least of rehab to recover once he has the go-ahead to start bearing weight on it. We are hopeful that he will be back to doing what he loves as quickly as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out; every message has been greatly appreciated. If anyone would like to send him anything, we are at Fresno Community Hospital in room 540.
