Milana Bender Bannon knew that 2019 was going to be her year - a move, new place, new job. Halfway to her new future home in Austin TX, she stopped in Arkansas to rest. Her foot was painful, and she ended up at the local ER.

It turned out she had cellulitis, an infection of the skin. A week on antibiotics, and Milana thought she'd be back on her way.

Only that's not how it worked out.

Milana developed gangrene.

Due to the severity and fast-growing nature of gangrene, the doctors had to amputate her foot below the knee.

The surgery just happened. What remains is the healing, the rehab, and learning to move all over again. Being fitted for a prosthetic. Learning to walk, to drive, how to function minus a piece of her.

And because she was mid-move, she needs a place to live. Medical bills paid. Food and supplies and rent and assistance.

Milana is a sweet, funny, creative woman, which you already know if you know her. She is warm, supportive, a true and staunch friend to so many. Throughout her life, Milana has never hesitated to help others to the most of her ability. 

Now, she needs help. Our help.
