My name is Milan Karki, and I am an international student pursuing my dreams at Sam Houston State University. I am majoring in Plant and Soil with a minor in Agriculture. Unfortunately, my journey took an unexpected turn when a sports injury changed my life drastically.

While playing soccer, I faced a horrific tackle that resulted in a broken Tibia bone. The extent of the damage was such that I had to undergo a complex surgery, leaving me with a 5 cm incision and a long road to recovery.

During the surgery, my medical team performed intricate procedures, including the splitting of the patellar tendon and the insertion of pins and wires. The process was meticulous and required precision to ensure my leg would heal properly. The doctor informed me that I would be unable to walk for an agonizing 7 months.

This injury has not only taken a toll on my physical well-being but has also put me in a dire financial situation. As an international student, I am facing unexpected medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and the burden of everyday expenses without the ability to work due to my immobility.
