On September 19th, 2025, our world was turned upside down. While sharing a simple meal with her family, our beloved mother, Milagros, suddenly suffered a stroke followed by three violent seizures in the ambulance. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors had no choice but to place her in an induced coma due to the relentless seizures. After an MRI and a biopsy, we received the devastating news: Milagros has Glioblastoma, an aggressive, fast-growing malignant brain cancer. This came without warning. She had no prior health issues, no chronic conditions, just a loving mother of three, a devoted wife, and the beating heart of our family. For over three weeks, she’s been in and out of a coma, occasionally giving us faint gestures that she hears us as if trapped in her own body, unable to break through. Milagros was the sole caregiver for her husband, a veteran showing signs of Alzheimer's, who is now bed-ridden and unable to care for himself. She also lovingly cared for her eldest son, who has low-functioning autism and requires full-time support. With Milagros now in the hospital, our family is struggling emotionally, physically, and financially. A part-time home health aide is all we can afford, while the youngest son carries the unbearable weight of managing the household and covering every bill. We are overwhelmed, broken, and doing everything we can to stay afloat. Not only do we have to take care of the family expenses, but we have added expensive medical bills of yet another family member in need of medical attention. El 19 de septiembre de 2025, nuestro mundo se puso de cabeza. Mientras compartía una comida sencilla con su familia, nuestra querida madre, Milagros, sufrió repentinamente un derrame cerebral seguido de tres convulsiones violentas en la ambulancia. Fue trasladada de urgencia al hospital, donde los médicos no tuvieron otra opción más que inducirle un coma debido a las convulsiones incontrolables. Después de una resonancia magnética y una biopsia, recibimos la devastadora noticia: Milagros tiene Glioblastoma, un cáncer cerebral maligno, agresivo y de rápido crecimiento. Esto llegó sin previo aviso. No tenía problemas de salud previos, ni condiciones crónicas solo era una madre amorosa de tres hijos, una esposa devota y el corazón palpitante de nuestra familia. Desde hace más de tres semanas, ha estado entrando y saliendo del coma, ocasionalmente dándonos pequeños gestos que nos hacen sentir que nos escucha como si estuviera atrapada en su propio cuerpo, sin poder salir. Milagros era la única cuidadora de su esposo, un veterano que muestra signos de Alzheimer, y que ahora está postrado en cama e incapaz de cuidarse por sí mismo. También cuidaba con amor a su hijo mayor, quien tiene autismo de bajo funcionamiento y requiere apoyo a tiempo completo. Con Milagros ahora en el hospital, nuestra familia está luchando  emocional, física y financieramente. Solo podemos costear una asistente de salud a medio tiempo, mientras el hijo menor carga con el peso insoportable de manejar el hogar y cubrir todos los gastos. Estamos abrumados, rotos, y haciendo todo lo posible por mantenernos a flote. No solo debemos hacernos cargo de los gastos familiares, sino que ahora enfrentamos costosas facturas médicas de otro miembro de la familia que necesita atención médica.
