Help Milady Walk Without Pain Again
Hi, my name is Milady. I’m 25 years old, born in Miami, Florida, and currently living in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Over the past few years, I’ve poured my heart into giving back to my community here — and now, I’m humbly asking for support in return.
I’ve lived with a painful, progressive condition called Brachymetatarsia, a rare bone disorder where one of the long bones in the foot (the metatarsal) is significantly shorter than normal. In my case, it affects both feet. I first noticed it around age 9, and it has only worsened over time — affecting my balance, limiting the shoes I can wear, and making it painful to stand or walk for even short periods. It impacts me every day, physically and emotionally.
After years of pushing this surgery back, I’ve finally made the difficult decision to move forward. The surgery will involve placing fixtures in both feet, and I will be unable to walk for 3–4 months, relying on a wheelchair and assistance during recovery.
While I recently found a doctor in Florida who specializes in this condition and accepts my insurance (which was a huge relief!), not all of the costs are covered. That’s where I need your help.
The funds raised will go toward:
The remaining balance of the surgery not covered by insurance
Round-trip plane tickets to and from Florida
Rental car and housing while I recover
A second trip back to Florida to have the fixtures removed
This is a vulnerable moment for me. I’ve never asked for financial help before — but this surgery is life-changing. I’m ready to take this step toward walking without pain, regaining my mobility, and living a fuller life.
If you’re unable to donate, I completely understand — but please consider sharing this campaign. Every share helps me get closer to healing.
Thank you for your love, your support, and for helping me take this big step forward.
With gratitude,
Milady
