A couple of weeks ago, a stray pregnant cat wandered into our backyard. She was adorable, affectionate and very young and tiny. We fed her for a couple of days every time she showed up but we decided to adopt her when we realized she was about to give birth soon, fearing she could die in the streets.
She quickly won over our affection and we named her Mila. A couple of days after rescuing her she gave birth to 4 kitties. Unfortunately, after the fourth kitten, her uterus prolapsed and she started bleeding profusely. Even with her organ hanging out of her, while in pain, she cuddled her babies and fed them. We put them all in a box and drove to the nearest emergency vet. The vets looked at her, ran some scans and confirmed that it was indeed her uterus hanging out of her and also that she had another kitten stuck inside. They presented me a bill for over $4500 dollars in order to perform an emergency c-section, spay and IV fluids to save her. I was shocked at the price, but i looked over at her and i could see her fading as she continued to feed her kitties. I agreed to the surgery knowing that it was a terrible financial decisión but also knowing that it was the right thing to do. This poor stray cat chose us to save her and her babies and I couldn’t say no to her.
Fortunately, she seems to be making a full recovery and she is nursing her babies comfortably in our home.
We were able to finance her surgery but we would kindly appreciate any donations, big or small, that could help us pay down this loan before the interest becomes too much.
We are two people who simply love animals and tried to do the right thing. All donations would go towards paying down this debt and all help would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you for helping us, Mila and her babies.
