Help My Little Cuddle Bug Walk Again
On October 10, 2024, my heart shattered as I rushed my little boy, Miko, to the emergency room. What I thought would be a routine visit turned into my worst nightmare. After X-rays and evaluations, the vet delivered the devastating news—Miko had broken his femur, and the only way to fix it is through surgery involving implant plates, orthopedic metal plates, and screws to put his femur back in place. Without this surgery, he won’t be able to walk normally again. The alternative, would be to amputate his leg, but I simply can’t do that to him as he has a chance of good recovery with the surgery.
Miko is in so much pain that he’s needed methadone around the clock just to keep him sedated and comfortable. His hospitalization is anticipated to be at least three days, further adding to the unexpected costs.
I’m not the person to ever ask for favors, especially when it comes to money. But when it comes to Miko, I have to put my pride aside for his sake. The cost of Miko’s surgery is around $8,700 not including rehabilitation and follow-up care. I am only asking for partial help. While the prognosis is good with surgery, the financial burden is overwhelming.
Miko is not just a pet; he’s my whole world. He’s the sweetest, most loving little cuddle bug, and to see him in pain, unable to move, is unbearable. I would never ask for help unless I truly needed it, but here I am, humbly reaching out for any assistance you can provide to help Miko get the surgery he needs.
Please know that all funds raised will go directly toward Miko’s surgery and his recovery, including his rehabilitation and follow-up care. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, even just sharing this post could help us reach others who might be able to help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering helping Miko. He’s my everything, and with your support, I hope to see him walking, wagging his tail, and being his happy self again soon.
