Hello, I am Carly, meet my first pup Miko! He has been my loyal companion for the past 10 years, ever since I adopted him as an 8-week-old puppy. Over the years, he’s grown into an independent, well-mannered boy and even earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen title. He is also a trained service dog who has been by my side through every stage of life.
Not long ago, I found a lump on his neck, and after testing, a CT scan, and a consultation with a specialist, we learned it is a thyroid tumor and most likely cancer (90-95% likely). The encouraging news is that it has not spread anywhere else, and removing the affected thyroid gland could essentially cure him and give him a few more years to enjoy.
Miko is scheduled for surgery and once the mass is removed, it will be sent out for histopathology to confirm exactly what we’re dealing with. If surgery and recovery go well, this could give him the fresh start he needs to keep living the full, happy life he deserves.
The estimate for his surgery is about $4,800-$5,800, and that is where I could use some help, especially after the costs of tests and the CT scan. Any contribution, whether through a donation or simply sharing Miko’s story, means so much and helps us move one step closer to his recovery!
Thank you for taking the time to read about Miko. He has been my best friend for a decade, and I am so grateful for the love and support from those who care about him too. <3
