My name is Christina and I am reaching out to family and friends on behalf of my brother Mikie, his wife Erica, and their two children MJ and Ellie. They are facing one of the most challenging times of their lives. May 8th, Erica was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer—a heartbreaking and unexpected diagnosis that will be life-changing for her. We are beyond thankful her prognosis is good. She will be undergoing major surgery on June 11th which is relatively safe but recovery will be a hard 2 weeks and then radiation treatment to follow.

As her surgery and treatment approaches, the family will need our help to keep up with essential living expenses. As you all know Erica just got back to work from maternity leave and has not been back to work long enough to accrue sick/PTO time for this unexpected time off nor will disability payments be an option. With one parent unable to work during this time, and Mikie taking summer school off to be home for her recovery they could use help covering the cost of daycare for their children, and living necessities.
