Help Mikhail Aminov Live with Dignity and Comfort

My name is Ester Yakubova from Tea For 2 Events (a non for profit organization) and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our dear Bukharian community member Mikhail Aminov, a 52-year-old man living in Forest Hills, NY, who has been courageously battling a rare and aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy since 1997.

Mikhail has been diagnosed with Hereditary Inclusion Body Myopathy (HIBM) — a progressive, hereditary muscle-wasting disease. Over the years, this condition has left him fully paralyzed from the neck down, with only minimal finger movement remaining. Despite unimaginable challenges, he continues to fight for his life with strength, faith, and dignity.

What Your Support Will Help With

Mikhail’s current state assistance only covers basic rent and limited expenses. To live with even minimal comfort and safety, he urgently needs help with the following:

24/7 Home Care: Two caregivers working in 12-hour shifts to assist with every basic need — including feeding, hygiene, restroom access, daily massages for pain relief, and critical mobility support.

Electric Standing Chair: To help improve blood circulation and reduce muscle deterioration.

Power Wheelchair: For limited mobility and independence in his home.

Medical Supplies: Including daily care items, multivitamins for immune support, and equipment maintenance.

Acupuncture Therapy: To stimulate his muscles and relieve chronic pain.

Why We Need Your Help

Mikhail requires around-the-clock care and specialized medical equipment just to survive — let alone live comfortably. The cost of this care far exceeds what the state provides, and without help, his quality of life will continue to decline.
