Help Mikey Walk Again: Support His Road to Recovery

On the morning of November 12, 2024, our 17-year-old cousin/nephew, Mikey Mills, was in a devastating accident. As a passenger in a car on his way to Mt. Rose, the vehicle skidded off the road, rolled down an embankment, and collided with a tree. Tragically, the tree fell onto Mikey’s side of the car. Trapped in the wreckage with a broken back, Mikey faced the unimaginable, unable to feel his legs as he awaited rescue.

Mikey, a star athlete and dedicated water polo player, is now facing a long and uncertain recovery. Doctors have given a grim prognosis and cannot predict if he will be able to fully walk again, but if you know Mikey, you know he's a fighter. His determination and resilience are unwavering, and he’s working tirelessly to prove them wrong. His ultimate goal? To regain the use of his legs and walk across the stage at his high school graduation this spring.

This journey will not be easy. Mikey and his family are confronting immense physical, emotional, and financial challenges. From medical bills and specialized treatments to unforeseen expenses, the road ahead is daunting.
