I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart and an earnest request regarding my son, Mikey. Many of you know Mikey as a tirelessly dedicated and self-reliant individual, always the first to offer help and the last to ask for it. It's in that spirit that I, his mother, am now reaching out on his behalf.

Mikey recently underwent what was initially scheduled as a straightforward hip surgery on October 30, 2025. However, during the procedure, the surgical team discovered a far more significant issue than anticipated. What began as a routine operation quickly transitioned into a complex reconstructive labrum surgery, a much more extensive and challenging recovery.

This unexpected development has drastically altered his recovery timeline. Instead of a projected 4-6 weeks off work, Mikey is now facing a minimum of 12 weeks, and potentially longer, of intensive rehabilitation. As a self-employed individual, Mikey doesn't have the safety net of paid sick leave, PTO, or short-term disability benefits. This extended period of incapacitation means a complete cessation of his income, placing an immense and unforeseen financial strain on him and his family.

My greatest fear is that the mounting pressure will compel Mikey to return to work prematurely, risking reinjury and potentially jeopardizing his long-term health and mobility. He is the sole provider for his family, and the thought of him worrying about how to make ends meet while he should be solely focused on healing is unbearable.

Therefore, I am humbly asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would provide invaluable relief and allow Mikey to focus entirely on his recovery without the overwhelming stress of financial hardship.
