Help Mike's fight for life

Mike Kennelly is 48 years old and a single Dad to Sebastian, who is 10. Those of you who know him know he lives for his son. They are inseparable. Mike got sick last week and thought it was flu. It ended up being strep infection that spread to his lungs. Unfortunately he does not have health insurance, and did not want to spend hundreds when he thought he would get over it. He ran 103 for days. Then Thursday and Friday he was coughing so much he would vomit. On Saturday morning, he drove himself to a local emergency room at 4am because he was having trouble breathing. He was than transferred by ambulance to Katy Memorial Hermann at 8am. He was brought to IMU on a C-PAP to help him breath. That was not enough and he was transferred to ICU and put on a ventilator. He has Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. It is complicated by being diabetic and was not diagnosed prior to this. He was put in a medically induced coma and is currently on life support.

Mike's father, John Kennelly has been in the hospital for a month with pneumonia complicated by Multiple
Myeloma. Mike and his son Sebastian were living with his Dad and helping care for him. The family already has high medical bill with Mike's Dad, and Mike's current hospital stay is expected to be over $200K. This does not include all of therapies he will need once home as well. In addition, his teeth were broken when putting the vent in and he will need several crowns or implants.

Lynda, Mike's sister is taking care of Sebastian and their dog JJ. She will also care for their dad when he is released soon. Mike and John's home has a sunken in family and master bedroom. Mike was working on raising this for this dad to get around easier without falling on these steps. Now, Lynda's husband Danny is working like crazy to finish the floors. The house needs other upgrades for both of them. Bathrooms and doorways will need to be redone completely for them to get around.
