Mike’s COVID Fight Fund

UPDATE: The Bianco family is grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of their father and grandfather. They ask to please respect their privacy as they go through this immensely difficult pain that no one should have to bear. Mike was taken far too early & his entire family and community rallying behind them are devastated beyond measure. In light of this news, we have increased the goal of this campaign to further assist the younger children in the long term as well as help fray the cost for getting their dad home and laid to rest.

This is a message from the Bianco family:

On January 15, our dad Mike was admitted to the hospital for COVID related respiratory issues. He has been in a medically induced coma and intubated on the ventilator since January 19. His fight continues daily and his team of doctors and nurses are working around the clock. He is in very capable hands! We hope and pray that he takes a turn towards healing soon. To everyone praying and sending good vibes for healing, our family thanks you more than you could ever know!

Many have asked how they can help. Truthfully, just knowing that you are keeping our family in your thoughts is more than enough. After giving it more thought, we felt it would be helpful to have some assistance with ensuring our dad's dependent children are cared for while they are staying with some of our older siblings during this ordeal. Additionally, the funds will go towards helping us care for our dad's beloved German Shepherd, Caesar (dog food, medications, paying a dogsitter, etc). Since all of this came about suddenly, we are still working with our dad's banks and other accounts to figure things out.

We do want to be clear: we are not asking for funds to help pay our father's medical bills. We honestly do not know what those will look like since there are so many factors at play - insurance and federal COVID relief, namely, will determine what total out of pocket costs will be. We just don't know. If we surpass our goal, additional funds will either go towards dependent care if they have to stay with family more long term, or will be put towards our dad's overall recovery costs.

We appreciate so much all of the love, kindness, and generosity our friends and family have shown to us over the last few weeks. It's truly incredible and we are so, so grateful.

With love,

Michael, Brittany, CatieJo, Melanie, Sean, Nicholas, Kimberly, Robbie, Juliana, and Susannah

+ all of our spouses & significant others

+ our dad's 8 (soon to be 10!) grandchildren Gracie, Addison, Brayleigh, Ayden, Liam, Savannah, Hollis, Everett, and soon to be Emma and Meadow!
