Becoming afflicted with leukemia and tuberculosis put an early end to a 20-year career with the Canadian Army at Base Gagetown in New Brunswick, Canada. I was a videorapher, editor and the voice of Army online training. I also spent time as a radio reporter and internet programmer.

Music has always been a big part of my life. I was a founding member of the Fredericton (New Brunswick) Harvest Jazz and Blues Frstival, played in several blues, roots and Christian rock bands, and was a regular member of Smythe Street Church's (Fredericton) worship band.

Where does this leave me? I've got a smaller than expected pension, my wife has also been forced to retire early, and we've got plenty of new expenses for drugs and hospital visits.
