Beloved Bicycle Mechanic Needs Help
Donation protected
While driving home from work on SR-385 on February 2nd, Mike was struck by a piece of metal that flew off of a vehicle in front of him. The metal broke through the windshield and struck him in the head. Fortunately, he was able to pull over to the shoulder and call 9-1-1. After EMS arrived, Mike was rushed to Regional One Trauma Center where he received emergency surgery on his ruptured right eye. He has a substantial laceration on his forehead, fractured facial bones surrounding his eye, nasal fractures, and multiple other injuries. Unfortunately, the prognosis on his right eye is poor. In the coming weeks, the medical team will determine whether his eye will recover from the trauma. Further surgical intervention to his facial structures is expected.
This unexpected, life-changing event comes with large expenses. We are asking for donations to aid Mike, his wife Mary, and his family with medical expenses, vehicle repair, lost wages, and other living costs. Let's help Mike and his family by easing some of the burdens so they can focus on his treatment and road to recovery.
