Help Mike, Sarah, Stella & Mason
My cousin Mike is a loving husband & wonderful father who is facing a serious medical issue.
It all started in December 2016. Since then he has had 6 procedures angiogram/angioplasty, 7 stents, and countless hospitalizations. He has chronic angina (feels like an ice-pick in your chest) from coronary artery disease. His doctors have tried multiple medications, stents, angioplasty all with very limited temporary relief. His cardiologist has explained he is out of options and sent him to a cardiac interventionist. The interventionist reviewed his case and has scheduled an exploratory angiogram to take another look to see what surgical options he has. Any minor activity sets off the angina which cannot be ignored (getting dressed, making lunch, watering the garden or really anything that involves movement). His ability to do the bare minimum function in life has been reduced to 0. He has been in out of work for the past 20 months completely exhausting all sick/vacation time with medical bills stacking up even with insurance. For the past 2 weeks he has not been able to work, and it is another 1.5 weeks before the angiogram procedure. A by-pass surgery is expected to follow soon after. Recovery time from surgery is 4-6 weeks with no complications. Mike's wife Sarah works full-time as a social-worker but without Mike's income the ability to keep food on the table and the bare minimum expenses to survive living in the city, they are facing losing everything. The money will be used for paying bare minimum bills and feeding his family while he can’t work. He is stressed and overwhelmed at not being able to provide for his family while facing this serious medical issue.
