On November the 17, 2025 my life would start to change. Two weeks prior I cut my big toe on my right foot on a rusty nail nothing bad at all I put a bandage on it and forgot about it. Well two weeks later on the 17th I found myself sitting in the E.R of my local hospital not feeling well at all. Had a fever of 101 and was very nauseous and being sick is a rare thing for me but I was feeling bad. Well after a dozen test the doctor came back in the room with tons of questions because my white blood cell count was very high. After all the questions the last one hit like a ton of bricks he asked me if I had any cuts or scraps in the last few days. Well it hit me right away my toe so I removed my shoe and my big toe was super red much worse than 8 hours ago. He said that was called cellulitis a skin infection so he ordered an MRI and once that scan came back the news was much worse it is called osteomyelitis (bone infection). He told me I was being admitted and he was calling vascular surgeon in for a consultation. After seeing both doctors the next day my big toe was being amputated. No big deal right well it wasn't but what was is the infection I had was due to an antibiotic resistant form of staph infection. Well I spent a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics before going home. That was my first of 5 stays and surgeries due to a small nail. A week later back in to have the wounded cleaned out and another week in the hospital. Well fast forward to today and skipping over 2 surgeries and having half my foot removed due to the infection till now 3 weeks ago I had to have my right leg below the knee amputated. The amputation was high enough up to make sure we all the infection was cut off but low enough I should with time be able to walk normal with a prosthesis. But right now I have no money coming in and have used all my sick and vacation days up by the end of December. I have sold all my firearms and my truck to pay medical bills and house payment plus all other bills. I have had to relied on food banks for food and churches for things like rides to get to doctors appointments I have to learn how to drive left footed much easier said than done. If you can help in any way even if it's places or programs that help people like myself that find themselves facing these new challenges my email is [email redacted] if all you can give is .50 cents it all adds up but if not monetarily please take a moment and lift me in prayer. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy days to read my story.
