On March 2nd, 2026, my brother Mike suffered a severe heart attack in Lethbridge. He was given CPR and defibrillation to save his life and flown immediately to Calgary via STARS to their Cardiac ICU at Foothills hospital. He was intubated and sedated while his family patiently waited for him to wake up.

Thankfully, after the life saving measures of Chinook regional hospital in Lethbridge, STARS, and Foothills cardiac care in Calgary, he was taken off sedation and intubation after five long days and has very slowly started his long recovery journey. After eleven days in Foothills hospital, Mike was able to return home to his family. This comes just months after we experienced the loss of our mother, making this time even more difficult for all of us.

Mike is the main provider in his household as a father of two. His partner Jody is recovering from her own personal health concerns and taking care of her daughter. This beautiful blended family is humbly asking for support to help with Mike’s road to recovery on this unexpected journey. Anyone who knows Mike knows how much he loves his family and how hard he works to support them.

Mike will be unable to return to work for the time being and Jody will continue to help day and night with Mike’s recovery as well as taking care of the children.

While our community has been incredibly supportive during this time, Mike’s household still faces ongoing monthly expenses. Funds raised will go directly toward rent, groceries, utilities, supporting the children, and any additional recovery-related costs.
