Help Mike Rebuild Hometown

Hi, my name is Mike and I am fundraising for a charity trip to Africa this winter. Being born in Liberia and growing up in the United States, I have always felt a connection with my African heritage and the humanitarian work my birth father had done in Liberia to better our community. He always had a vision to build a community that we all could be proud of. A community not based on the individual, but the collective good for everyone involved. After his passing, his vision became my own as I now look to travel back to Liberia to help finish the work he had started many years ago. Traveling to Africa, my main focus is to help build a food source in Monrovia, Liberia for underprivileged people, distributed several boxes of supplies I have collected, and begin my own soccer program in Monrovia that has a focus on the youth. Beyond the obvious need for clothing, medicine, food and other supplies, I believe sport can play a very beneficial role in the lives of many children in Liberia. I will build a field for kids to train and play on with land I already own there. I want to see soccer give children in Liberia an opportunity at a better life much like it did for myself. These are all goals that require the help of our community to fund and achieve. While my goal is high for this campaign, this funding can potential create a positive impact on thousands of Liberian lives that are in desperate need.
