I'd like to start by sharing something Mike's dad, Kevin posted about Mike and what happened July 4th weekend:

This is my son's Mikes place. He bought it a couple of months back and set it up on private property (Owned by one of his co workers) overlooking the Columbia river towards Chelan.

He put a lot of work into it, setting it up for off grid life, something he has a passion for. From setting up solar panels, to solving the lack of water issues. The commute to work was about 45 minutes each way, and after a long day working as a mechanic for a small shop in Waterville, he would spend the rest of the daylight hours working around the place. From cooking meals to clearing brush, even hanging a set of outdoor string lights.

For entertainment he had the wildlife, his 3/4 Martin guitar, and the stars over head. I haven't seen him as happy in a long while. Living his best life...until this weekend. He texted us yesterday to tell us he was in a level one evacuation zone, The dirt trail to where he was set up was sketchy in daylight let alone a thick smoked filled air. He grabbed a few essentials, work clothes that sort of thing and came to our place to wait out the notice. We watched online as the fire went from 300 acres to over 20000. Early this morning he got the call from his coworker-everything is lost. His trailer, his personal belongings, his beloved guitar. We are grateful, and thankful that he used good judgment and got out of there while he could. He is taking it in good stride, he always said he had a plan for such an emergency. I am proud of the man he has become, and to be honest his strength gives me strength. I say these things, not for folks to feel sorry for him, but to remind everyone that in the end it is just stuff. What matters most is the flesh. He will bounce back from this, I have no doubt, after all he is my son.

So, as a mom, I want to help make things a little easier for Mike in a time of sadness and stress. He basically came out with a change of clothes and his work attire. If you can spare a bit to help him get back on his feet again, and most especially to bring music and light back for him, I would be a happy mom who will pay that forward in all ways that I can.
