Hi, my name is Tiffany Cooper, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my brother, Mike. We haven’t been in each other’s lives for several years, but I recently learned that he survived a horrific event, one that no one should ever have to experience alone.
In the early morning hours on October 19th, while sleeping in the tent he was living in, Mike woke to the sound of crackling flames. The entrance and roof of his tent were already engulfed. With the fire rapidly moving toward him, he had only seconds to react. He escaped through the back of the tent, but during those terrifying moments, he suffered second and third degree burns to his arms, hands, and nose. His left forearm required a skin graft, taken from his leg.
Mike lost everything in that fire: his belongings, clothing, bedding, identification, and any sense of safety or stability. But he survived, and I am deeply grateful for that.
Now, while he focuses on healing, I’m working with him to rebuild his life so he doesn’t have to return to homelessness. We are starting from the ground up: replacing his ID, Social Security card, birth certificate, clothing, transportation, and basic living essentials.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping Mike regain stability, including:
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Mental health support regarding the fire
- Filing fees for identity documentation
- Clothing, shoes, and basic hygiene needs
- Food and daily living expenses
Why I’m Asking for Help -
Mike is still healing physically and emotionally. The burns have limited his mobility, strength, and ability to work. He needs time, compassion, and a safe foundation to rebuild on. Your support can give him a chance at stability, dignity, and hope, something every human deserves.
