Help Mike Peluso Heal — Without a Colostomy Bag!
If you know Mike Peluso, you know he’s the first guy to show up when someone needs help — whether it’s tying your fishing knot, fixing your skates, or just making you laugh when you need it most. Now it’s our turn to help him.
Mike was recently hospitalized with perforated diverticulitis and a sizable abscess that’s trying to ruin his summer. He’s currently fighting it off in the hospital while the doctors try to avoid surgery and (fingers crossed ) keep him from needing a colostomy bag. Let’s just say… that’s not ideal fishing attire.
Here’s the kicker: Mike is self-employed as a fishing guide, and he’s just shy of having his new health insurance coverage kick in. So, he’s staring down some serious medical bills — likely over $100,000 — all while recovering, stressing, and missing work during peak season.
He’s too humble to ask for help, so his sister (that’s me) is stepping in. He’s overwhelmed, exhausted, and still cracking jokes — but let’s ease the financial pressure so he can focus on healing and getting back on the water… and the ice.
Mike is:
A former NHL player
A beloved former high school hockey coach
A fiercely dedicated dad of two amazing girls
And someone who always puts others first
Now we get to show up for him.
Every little bit helps — whether it’s $5, $50, or just sharing this with people who know and love him. Let’s rally around Peluso and remind him that his community’s got his back (even if it’s sore right now).
