Mike’s health took a sudden and serious turn earlier this year. In May, he began experiencing significant pain and illness. Despite multiple doctor visits and months of waiting for essential testing, his condition continued to worsen. Over this period, Mike lost nearly 80 pounds, and the swelling in his neck grew concerningly large. When he was finally able to receive care at UC Davis, doctors discovered he was in critical condition. He was septic and close to going into shock. He was also diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo Chemotherapy. His rapid decline left our family shaken and worried as he was immediately admitted for urgent treatment.
Mike is a caring, respectful, and kind-hearted person. He has not been able to work for years due to ongoing health challenges, and his partner has been doing everything possible to support him. His mom, who lives on a fixed income, traveled from out of state to help. I live in Redding and visit as often as I can.
We don’t know exactly what the coming months will bring, but we are committed to helping Mike fight for his recovery. The financial strain on his family is overwhelming, and we are asking for support to help cover essential expenses, including:
- Travel costs for repeated trips to UC Davis
- Daily hospital parking fees
- Medications
- Wound and skin-care supplies
- Nutritional drinks and supplements to help him regain strength
If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would make a meaningful difference for Mike and those caring for him during this difficult time. And if you cannot give, your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.
Thank you for supporting Mike and helping our family through this challenging journey.
