Hi everyone,
I’m asking for help for my husband, Mike, and myself as we face another difficult chapter in his long fight against cancer.
Mike has been through so much already. He’s battled liver cancer twice, underwent a liver transplant, and later faced lung cancer, which led to the removal of one lobe of his lung. I honestly didn’t think he would make it out of the hospital that time — but he did. Mike is a fighter.
Recently, we received heartbreaking news: the cancer is back, this time in his other lung. What makes it even harder is knowing that the doctor first saw it when it was only 2 cm, but we weren’t told about it. By the time we finally learned, it had already grown to 5.2 cm, and now it’s over 7 cm, making it too large for radiation.
Mike has been scheduled for another lobectomy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester on November 14th — his birthday.
He lost his job in May, and with that, we lost his cancer insurance rider that had helped us so much before. We’ve since had to move him onto my insurance, which costs $600 a month just to keep coverage. Mike has been approved for disability, but those payments won’t start until December.
Between medical expenses, travel, hotel stays, and everyday bills, things have gotten really tough. I’ll be by Mike’s side through his surgery and recovery — thankfully, I work from home and can care for him, but we could really use some help to get through this time.
Every bit helps — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer.
Thank you all so much for your kindness, love, and support.
With gratitude,
Tammi & Mike
