Hi I'm Laura and I'm helping to raise funds for a boy and family who have been hit by a tragedy.

Mike is a 16 year old boy from Dungannon, Co. Tyrone. Whose life changed in an instant on the 25th of May.

While swimming at Emu Lough in Emyvale Co. Monaghan. Mike got into difficulty in the water and lost consciousness.

Thanks to the quick actions of a courageous bystander who performed CPR until emergency services arrived. Mike was given a fighting chance. He was airlifted to the Mater hospital in Dublin, where he remained in critical condition for several days.

Thankfully, Mike is now awake but his journey is far from over.

Mike is facing every parents worst nightmare as he prepares to undergo surgery for Arteriovenous Malformation (AMV) on his brain. This is a major operation, and the road ahead will be long and challenging. Following surgery, he is expected to require extensive rehabilitation and ongoing medical support as he works towards recovering.

Throughout this difficult time. Mike family have remained by his bedside in Dublin, far from their home and support network in Tyrone. While being there for Mike is their only priority, the financial burden of travel, accommodation, daily expenses and future rehabilitation costs are significant.
