Help Mike Moore's Daughters Say Goodbye

Donation protected
My name is Randy Redus, and the man in the pics is Mike Moore. The pics of the girls are pics I took in the 90’s, so no electronic pics. I also am missing a pic of the 4th girl, Michelle.

Mike’s heart stopped on Sat 5/24, and while they were able to revive him, it seems clear that he was without oxygen too long. His body is being kept alive for his girls to get to him and say goodbye to him, but all indications from the doctors are that he’s not going to recover. He’s currently at Reno Renown Regional Hospital in Reno, as he currently lives with his wife (not the girls mom) in Fallon, NV.

In the 90’s, Mike and his then wife adopted 4 girls, sisters. They had had a rough life so far, and Mike wanted to give them a chance at something better. Michelle, Cheyenne, Elizabeth, and Tammy.

Mike was no means wealthy, but he made enough as a mechanic to keep them together and give them a chance at something better while his then wife stayed home with the girls. I wish I could tell you that life was great for them from then on, but after moving into adulthood they all ran into challenges.

However, they got through the challenges and are all able to support themselves. Mike was there to support them, but to let them also be responsible for their choices.

They don’t make a lot of money, any of them. That’s why I am starting this, to see if I can help them get to their dad to say goodbye, or offset the costs that they are incurring to do so. Right now 2 are almost to him, 1 will not be able to get there until Thursday, and the 4th can’t muster enough to get to him.

If Mike doesn’t recover, he is to be buried where his mom is, in Cape Girardeau, MO. This is going to be another financial challenge for the girls, but all indications from the doctors point to this ending.

As for myself, I plan on going to him on 5/28 and I found a VRBO 1.5 miles from the hospital that I and the girls can stay at so that we are all close. I have the means to make this trip, (from CO) pay for the VRBO, and also make the trip to MO, although it will put off paying off some bills.

I met Mike when I was 18, in 1987, and we have been friends since. For a few years we both lived in CO, but most of the time we just traveled to each other now and then. When I got married, Mike was my best man. When I moved from AZ to CO, mike just showed up at our house in AZ to help us move. When he moved from CA to VA and needed to also move a horse, I drove from CO to Sacramento area with my truck and stock trailer so that he had means to move the horse.

Thats what kind of friendship we had. We were there for each other other by phone, or if in person was needed, we showed up.

Mike’s heath had deteriorated rapidly in the last 4 years. I was hoping that we would end up together again when we were old and yell at each other and kids in the neighborhood, like old men do. With his health problems I knew this day would come sooner than it should have. I’m holding it together like men are supposed to, and I expect I’m going to break down hard when I see him lying there.

Mike knew our Lord, and was confident in his destination. He was by no means a wealthy man with $, nor was he a perfect man. He was, though, honest, loyal, and frequently stopped to help anyone out.

I will miss him, painfully.

Again, this money is to help bring his girls to see him off, and to be with him at his burial. The money will be for offsetting their cost for both, and anything above that I will use to offset his burial.
