Mike Moon, ASU alumni. Mike played basketball on a scholarship for ASU in the 70's.  He was very successful as a collegiate athlete.  He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns, but didn't make the cut.  He went on to raise two sons in the East Valley of the Phoenix Metro area. 
In 2011 Mike suffered a massive stroke at the age of 57.  This stroke left him paralyzed on his right side and took away his speech.  Through many hours/months of therapy Mike was unable to recover due to the severity of the stroke.  Mike and I had a ten year relationship at the time of his stroke. After taking care of him for more than 3 years I was unable
to care for him and he was place in a nursing home. 
I found a company, Vitanya Brain Performance, located in Gilbert, AZ. They work on sending signals to the brain to help the brain function in the areas that are not firing as they used to. This therapy has been 90% effective in treating autism, Alzheimer, PTSD, addictions and other brain traumas. Vitanya's goal is to assist in rebalancing the brain and improve quality of life using decades old technology in a new and innovative way by evaluating your brain's electrical signals and interpreting areas of imbalance.  I truly believe that they can help Mike speak again and perhaps even walk again.  The cost is not covered by insurance and Mike is on long term care through the Medicade system.  The question is "What If?"  Based on what I know about his program I have to try this program so he can help himself with his care. He is fully aware of his surroundings but can only speak in gibberish and is unable to help himself with his care.  The program is for one year/2 times a week program at a cost of approximately $9,500  He needs to begin as soon as possible as Mike has many years to live and am desperate for him to live the rest of his life with some dignity and a higher quality of life.  This stroke took away everything we had built together and I still care for him and need to make his life better in anyway I can.
