Help Mike Montoya Rebuild His Life
Many of you have seen Mike Montoya in the news for his heroic actions during the tragic boat capsizing in San Francisco Bay. While fishing near Fort Mason, Fisherman Mike Montoya and Justin Marceline noticed a vessel billowing steam or smoke and immediately picked up their fishing lines and went towards the boat. Arriving within minutes, they found people in the freezing water surrounded by debris. Using his years of experience on the Bay, Mike carefully navigated his boat through the wreckage, rescuing multiple survivors who had no way to save themselves. Despite the chaos unfolding around them, they remained calm, and pulled people to safety. Together the two saved 8 lives. Their courage, quick thinking, and selflessness helped save lives that day.
What many people don't know is that Mike has been fighting his own uphill battle for years. After a devastating accident that left him with a broken neck and a ruptured spleen, Mike has never been able to return to the career he once had. Instead, he's worked tirelessly to survive, doing fiberglass work for a few days each week while trying to earn additional income through fishing. Even with his determination, he's still struggling to get back on his feet and is currently sleeping on a couch while working toward a better future.
Mike has never been someone to ask for help. In fact, when complete strangers needed him most, his only instinct was to help.
Now we're asking our community to do the same for him. Your donation will help Mike find stable housing, cover everyday living expenses, and continue rebuilding his life after years of hardship. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another wonderful way to support Mike.
Heroes don't always wear capes—they're often ordinary people who choose to act when others need them most. Thank you for supporting Mike Montoya.
