Help Mike “Weems” Williams with Phase II of Cancer Battle

**UPDATE**

If you’ve known Mike Williams for 15 minutes or 15 years, you know several truths. He is a loving husband and father, a generous and caring friend, a creative problem solver and a hell of a competitor. There isn’t a sport, game or truth-or-dare that Mike has come across and not leaned into with his full heart.

In early August 2024, Mike began a new challenge—not by choice, but with the heart of a true warrior. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. Later that month he and his family learned the cancer had attached to his liver and was present in areas of his chest and stomach.

Mike immediately began fighting. Since August, he’s seen numerous oncologists across the state, battled and defeated chemo induced colitis and is close to completing his 12th round of chemotherapy. By God’s grace and Mike’s determination, he’s seen marked progress in Phase I of his battle.

However, there is a Phase II to prepare for, and just like the Weems we know and love, he is ready to go all in and take this fight to another level. Phase II will include additional maintenance chemotherapy treatments paired with additional treatments to fight, rather than pause, the cancer in his body.

These additional treatments are roughly $3,000 each month, are not covered by insurance, and are on top of his medical expenses through Duke. This is where we can all make a difference.

Please prepare to step up in any way you can. This campaign is to help Mike focus on what matters most-- getting healthy-- and not the expenses that come along with his treatment.
