Playing the Irish fiddle has introduced me to close friends, indomitable musicians, and artistic spaces that have deeply enriched my creative life. For almost ten years, I've been playing the same fiddle, an intermediate level instrument that has served me well in the Boston Irish music scene. At long last, however, my playing has begun to exceed the instrument, and I've begun searching for a new and improved fiddle to further enliven my music.

Earthview is a concert for solo fiddle and spoken word. Hosted at the Little Crepe Cafe 102 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA, this evening of folk music and poetry will take place on Thursday July 31st at 7pm. Tickets are $5-$15 dollars on a sliding scale, but those who are able to contribute more are welcome to do so. The Emberists will kick off the night's events, and then I will perform arrangements of traditional Irish music and original poetry.

All proceeds from this event will go towards a new fiddle, as well as related expenses (amplification equipment, re-haired bows, strings, etc.) I hope you'll consider contributing whatever you're able.
