Help Mike Launch His Podcast & LA Coaching!

Hello Everyone!

For the past several years, I have become increasingly convinced that I would operate my own podcast one day. The amount of positive feedback I've received over the years has solidified this goal. I've spent time brainstorming the different ways to approach this endeavor, with the main aspects being: content, equipment, and platform. It's that 2nd category (i.e., audio/visual necessities) where I need the most assistance right now in making this dream become a reality. The necessities are reliable microphones and stands, sound-mixing interface, noise-canceling headphones, soundproofing accessories, and potentially new software.

Working as an educator at various grade levels the past 20 years has been my passion, and I would continue that passion by hosting an educational podcast, essentially functioning as a liaison between what is happening in the realm of science/research and the everyday person. Similarly, I'd be able to help my audience digest current events from the perspective of various fields of psychology (e.g., cognitive psych). I envision a podcast with weekly guests who represent all backgrounds and slices of life, as I can speak to a range of human experiences and viewpoints. I will likely host my podcast on the Patreon site, and would use some of this funding to generate initial marketing/advertising campaigns.

Additionally, I would like to revamp my coaching services as I expand my coaching from DC to LA !  I have offered transformational coaching services for amateur athletes in the DC area for the past 15 years, in which I'd like to offer more *dynamic* content on my website(s), such as videos, in which the equipment will help.  As I start a new coaching business in LA, I would also be using some of this funding to purchase the domain name, email account, yearly web registration, and targeted online advertising for the first 2 months.

Your support would allow me to accomplish this goal "sooner rather than later", as in I'd like to launch the coaching site by October 1st, and the podcast on January 1st, 2022! I'd like to start with some basic voice acting work to get the ball rolling in the meantime. I'm still finishing up my PhD and so this funding will also allow me to work hard toward that goal too!
