Help Bring a Baby Into the World: A Fertility Journey Fueled by Love

They say it takes a village to raise a child—but sometimes, it takes a village to help bring one into the world.

My brother and sister-in-law are a couple whose hearts are made for parenthood. They have poured their love into everyone around them—family, friends, and their community (she's even a teacher!)—and now, it’s their turn to receive that love in return.

After two years of trying to conceive, countless tests, doctor visits, and prayers, they finally have a clear path forward: In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

The only thing standing between them and the baby they’ve longed for is the overwhelming out-of-pocket cost. IVF expenses exceed $30K, with $25K required upfront, as their insurance offers no coverage. With their appointment just 20 days away, we’re rallying to raise the funds needed for the treatment that could change their lives forever.

Mike & Kaley’s Story:

We met a little later in life and while we thought we missed out on time together, we realized it was only God's perfect timing! Without our journeys before “us”, we wouldn’t be the team we are today. We knew after the first date that this was what we’ve been waiting for for a very, very long time! Our wedding day was filled with love, support, encouragement, and excitement!

After the wedding, the excitement never let up! Everyone knows that babies follow weddings! We were so ready to begin our family. All we want is to see a mini version of our love running around our feet, running up to us with sweet smiles when we get home from work, and feeling our love grow even deeper by sharing a living mixture of us!

But God had other plans for us. Month after month, we watched pregnancy tests turn negative. Each month built up more and more hope thinking “it’s got to be this time!”, just to see only one pink line again and again. There were fights with doctors for them to take action and help us find out why 10 months of tests had come back negative.

We ended up with a diagnosis of endometriosis. Tissue is growing in the wrong places and it is everywhere. It’s on the uterus, bladder, bowels, abdominal wall, and it’s even completely blocking one fallopian tube. The other side had a growth on it interrupting the functions of the ovary. We were devastated. We knew this journey just got harder and, again, we’d have to wait so long for what we’d already been longing for. Surgeries were performed, medications were taken, interventions were tried; all with countless prayers, but no success.

Our hearts were heavy, but we continued to grow our faith and trust in God’s plan for us. It is only a matter of time! And if you didn’t already know, waiting for something you so desperately want is HARD.

At this point in our journey, we are moving to IVF. We are SO excited! It will be trying and taxing, but an embodiment of our love is the result, making it so worth it. You can’t put a price tag on a baby! Yet… doctors do. And insurance wants nothing to do with it. After two years of exhausting every other option, we’re now having to exhaust our financial resources.

We are asking for your prayers for this IVF process to be gentle to Kaley’s body and ultimately successful the first try. We also ask for prayers that finances be in our favor. If you feel led, your generosity would go straight toward treatment.
