Hi, my name is Jessica Rainy, Mike and Judy's eldest daughter. I live in Sydney, Australia and am setting up this GoFundMe page to help my parents who live in Kenya.

On the 3rd of March, both of my parents, Judy and Mike, were suddenly admitted to hospital in Nairobi. My mother had suffered a worrying fall which injured her left eye, while my father was feeling extremely unwell and experiencing difficulty breathing.

My mother was discharged after three nights in hospital on the 6th of March. She is now home in Melepo in good care but is very much looking forward to my father coming home.

My father was admitted to ICU with influenza A and a bacterial super-infection. He remained in ICU for seven nights before being transferred to a ward, where his lungs have continued to be closely monitored. During this time, he also underwent surgery to remove a large basal cell carcinoma from his left shoulder.

After these many days in hospital and intensive treatment, their medical bills have grown significantly and now approaching 2 million Kenyan Shillings.

We are hopeful that my father will be discharged in the next day or so. We are reaching out to our wider community of long-time friends in the hope that you might be willing to contribute to this GoFundMe page to help cover these growing medical costs and support his return to the comfort of home in the Melepo Hills, beside his beloved wife Judy, and surrounded by our extended family.
