Hey everyone! My name is Chad Campbell, you may know me from the Winnebago County Scanner or Outagamie County Scanner on Facebook!

I wanted to set this up after talking to Mike's family, and I did, so let's get the background here...

Mike Jacob (MJ, as I call him), was heading to work at a job site on Monday morning, October 27th. He was just outside of Berlin, Wisconsin and got in to a car accident involving his vehicle and two other vehicles.

The first responders on scene, police, fire, medical, all did an amazing job not just for MJ but also for the other occupants of the other vehicles.

MJ did get injured, and is currently in the hospital in a coma. He has multiple surgeries per day, with both his arms and legs broken in multiple places, as well as injuries to his skull and reconsctructive surgeries.

MJ is self employed as a painter, and as such, the intent of this GoFundMe is that he and his wife, Sarah S., can focus on him getting better and not paying bills. And to keep Mike's best friend, Ashes comfortable while he waits for MJ.

I've known MJ for 10 years now, and I wish I could explain this guy to everyone that doesn't know the guy... If you want to see a party on two feet, that's MJ. When I was talking to the family, I said the thing I admired about MJ the most, was his ability to poke fun at himself and everyone else, and not be offensive. I don't have that ability, but MJ had it naturally. He is always fun to talk to.

More admirable than the ability to be everyone's friend, is his attitude about everything. Always positive. Personally, if I ever heard him say something negative about themselves, it was just to show those people the mirror. It takes a special person to be able to do that and not upset almost everyone.

Mike has a long road ahead of him, doctors are currently estimating a recovery time of 9-12 months, the first three months he can't be load bearing at all. So MJ has a very long road ahead of him.

Thankfully, with his team of doctors and a great support system like Sarah by his side, we all know it's just a matter of time for him!
