Help Support Mike, Our School’s Beloved Crossing Guard

If you’ve ever walked your kids to school, you know Mike — the guy in the bright vest who might look intimidating at first, but turns out to be one of the sweetest humans around. He’s the one who always made sure our kids crossed safely, rain or shine. The one who bought candy out of his own pocket every Friday just to make the kids smile. The one who remembered names, noticed when a child seemed off, and genuinely cared.

Right now, Mike needs us.

He was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo surgery. He’s now starting chemotherapy, which will continue through March. Because of treatment, he can’t work — and while the bills keep coming, his paycheck doesn’t. We all know how brutal that can be.

This is someone who has quietly given to our children and our community for years without expecting anything back. It’s our turn to show up for him.
